Bowties with Lemon and Tomatoes

2 pounds ripe tomatoes (6 medium), chopped
1/4 cup loosely packed fresh mint leaves, chopped
1/4 cup loosely packed fresh basil leaves, chopped
1 garlic clove, crushed with garlic press
1 teaspoon freshly grated lemon peel
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 package (16 ounces) bowties or ziti

Directions
1. In serving bowl, combine tomatoes, mint, basil, garlic, lemon peel, oil, salt, and pepper. Let stand at least 15 minutes or up to 1 hour at room temperature to blend flavors.

2. Meanwhile, in large saucepot, cook pasta as label directs. Drain. Add pasta to tomato mixture and toss well. Makes 4 main-dish servings.
